COLUMBINE MEMORIAL COMMITTEE UNVEILS FUNDRAISING THERMOMETER

January 16, 2006

LITTLETON, CO – The Columbine Memorial Committee has installed a new fundraising thermometer at Clement Park to publicly track the donations made to the Columbine Memorial Fund. Current funds raised stands at approximately $1,022,000 or 68% of the current goal of $1.5 Million needed to complete the Memorial.

The thermometer is the next step toward raising awareness for the Memorial project and encouraging the Columbine community to continue their support through donations toward the final goal of $1.5 Million. In addition, we are excited there are now several ways the community can support the Memorial project through their involvement in our upcoming Spring 2006 Golf Tournament, Remembrance Run, Paper Columbine and Remembrance Pin Sales. Information on any of these programs can be viewed at the Memorial website, www.columbinememorial.org.

Current plans are for a project groundbreaking in spring of 2006 and an announcement on the groundbreaking date will be made in the near future.

Bob Easton, Memorial Committee Chairman, commented: "We are working to raise awareness of the Memorial project through a series of promotions and events scheduled for the next few months. This sign, produced with donated materials, will allow us to display progress toward raising the final $500,000 needed to begin the project."

The Memorial is intended, through the design, to inspire thoughts of remembrance, reflection and healing. Donations can be made through the website and more information about the Memorial can be found at www.columbinememorial.org.
